The temperature dipped the past few days in Taiwan due to the cold weather front coming in from Mainland China and it is that time of the year when a hot pot (火鍋) is best consumed to keep yourself warm while enjoying a good dinner outside the comfort of your house.

After biking with some friends in the late afternoon, we decided to enjoy a good dinner in one of the famous night markets in Taipei, the Ningxia Night Market (寧夏夜市). I ordered “Mutton Hot Pot (羊肉養生鍋)” that was good for 2 persons and it was so delicious that I consumed it all by myself.

The Chinese hot pot has a history of more than 1,000 years and Taiwanese enjoyed eating hot pot particularly during the winter season.
